The Task

Field of Dreams Beverage Manufacturing Facility, a project owned by Japanese global drinks manufacturer Frucor Suntory. Built on a 17-hectare industrial site located southeast of Ipswich, the site has the capabilities to manufacture an impressive 20 million cases of energy drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages annually. 

Suntory needed to comply with strict EPA Stormwater discharge guidelines as well as local water authority trade waste regulations. 

The Plan

Beca Engineering contacted David Dickson from Fox to discuss the extreme and difficult site conditions, as well as the strict discharge parameters set by the EPA and Urban Utilities. After a few conversations, the wash bays and product transfer areas were designed and sent off for approval.

The solution

• 10 Fox First Flush Water Diversion System, 
• 1 CMS (Constant Monitoring System) 
• Custom FF600 First Flush Water Diversion System that diverts the wastewater to the onsite treatment plant and automatically cleans the wash area in the event of rain. Preventing any contaminants left on the wash pad from contaminating the stormwater drains.
