Abco Water Systems partnered with Fox Environmental Systems to deliver six custom 30,000L stainless steel Oil Water Separators for heavy-duty mining wash bays across Western Australia. Designed to meet strict environmental compliance, these systems handle wash-down water from some of the largest trucks in the world.
The Task
Abco Water Systems engaged Fox Environmental to design the best solution for two major mining clients in WA. Both required heavy-duty truck wash-down bays, six in total, installed across different iron ore mine sites. The systems needed to meet local council environmental requirements and operate reliably in remote, high-dust environments.
The Plan:
Kylie from Abco Water Systems collaborated closely with Fox Environmental’s design team to evaluate options for heavy-duty truck wash bays. The solution needed to:
- Handle high water volumes containing oil, grease, and suspended solids
- Ensure compliance with strict trade waste and stormwater regulations
The Solution
Fox Environmental manufactured six custom 30,000-litre stainless steel Oil Water Separators fitted with VTC technology for maximum separation efficiency. Each unit was skid-mounted for ease of transport and installation across the six different mine sites. This configuration allows minimal site disruption and faster commissioning while maintaining optimal performance.
