The Task:
Fox Environmental Systems worked alongside, Axis Plumbing, and our Operations team to design a reliable wastewater Diversion solution for a sewer treatment plant in the Wide Bay region of Queensland.
The project required a system that could provide effective wastewater management while ensuring ongoing reliability, compliance, and protection against potential system failures.
The Plan:
Michael, Fox Enviro Design Engineer worked closely with Queensland Rail Engineers and Vince, Axis Plumbing Project Manager throughout the design phase to develop a custom solution for the QLD Rail sewer treatment plant. The brief was to detect and divert any spills from four of the large above ground holding tanks on site. The Fox Constant Monitoring System was designed to continuously monitor the runoff from the bunded tank area and provide early detection of potential leaks and Divert the spill away from the stormwater.
The team also needed a plan for the site’s unroofed light vehicle wash bay area, ensuring the wastewater requirements were incorporated into the overall design. A DD600 Diversion System with FX1500SS Oil Separator was included as part of the solution to manage wash bay runoff and provide additional treatment support.
The Solution:
The completed system was installed in accordance with the approved design, with the Constant Monitoring System commissioned across the four holding tanks. The CMS provides continuous monitoring of the sewer treatment system, allowing potential leaks or issues to be detected early and managed effectively.
A DD600 and Oil Separator were also installed to manage runoff from the unroofed wash bay area, delivering a complete wastewater management solution for the site. Through collaboration between Fox Environmental, Axis Plumbing, and QLD Rail, the project was successfully delivered with a reliable and fit-for-purpose system designed for long-term performance.
